Website Production Request

Before your website can go live, there are additional steps you need to take. These include confirming accessibility compliance with Siteimprove, adding a privacy policy, and ensuring compliance with brand guidelines.

Complete the steps on this page to publish to production after you are approved to go live.

Enable Sitehost Production Publishing

By default, only Sitehost Test is enabled as a publishing destination.The Sitehost production destination is disabled so that the site doesn’t accidentally publish live while you’re building pages. You will need to enable the Sitehost production destination in the WCMS.

1. In the WCMS, click on Manage Site and then select Destinations.
2. Click sitehost.iu.edu - LIVE
3. Edit the destination.
4. Click Enable destination at the top of the page. You may optionally check Publish to this Destination by default near the bottom of the page. This means when publishing an asset, both Sitehost Test and Sitehost destinations will be selected by default (you can unselect them before publishing).
5. Submit.

Publish to Production

Assuming you’ve created all your pages and have published to Sitehost Test to confirm they appear as you expected, it’s time to publish your site live to Sitehost.

1. In the WCMS, click Home.
2. Click Base Folder.
3. Click Publish.
4. Leave both Sitehost Test and Sitehost selected and Submit.

Your site will publish and after a few minutes should appear live at your virtual host URL.
